WORKSHOPS

HELPING YOUTH NAVIGATE SEX AND TECHNOLOGY THOUGHTFULLY

Technology is integrated into the lives of young people; how do we teach them to use it wisely? In this workshop, we guide adults through the latest research on sexting and sexually explicit media, encourage them to explore their own values around sextech, and provide them with practical tips on how to talk to young people about these issues. We can also tailor this workshop to include how young people use technology more broadly in their relationships.

Suggested Audiences: Healthcare providers, social workers, and mental health providers.

EVERYONE MATTERS: AFFIRMING YOUNG PEOPLE OF ALL SEXUAL ORIENTATIONS AND GENDER IDENTITIES

This workshop goes beyond vocabulary and definitions, and dives into practical ways that adults can create welcoming, safe environments for young people of all sexual orientations and gender identities. Our goal is to provide adults with the same safe environment we hope they develop in order to learn with open minds and hearts.

Suggested audiences: Teachers, healthcare providers, social workers, and mental health providers.

HEARING YES, HEARING NO: HOW TO TEACH YOUNG PEOPLE ABOUT CONSENT AND BOUNDARIES

Consent should be the core of every sexual encounter, yet sexuality education curricula are slow to include lessons on this topic. Meanwhile, the #MeToo movement has increased awareness of sexual violence and the importance of addressing enthusiastic consent. In this workshop, we work with educators of any grade level to provide them with ways to include consent lessons for their students.

Suggested Audiences: Teachers and other educators
